We are pleased to announce that our influence maps plugin for unreal engine 5 is released on the marketplace now. The plugin is high performance and allows you to use it with both blueprints and C++. It helps you make spatial decisions based on where things are and what happend where over time.

Influence maps are better than EQS for most situations where you need to make decisions based on where actors are or what did they do and you don’t want to/cannot re-calculate the data per actor per query. They can have multiple resolutions and more importantly, you can combine multiple maps to ask complex questions like where should I go so there are many allies but not too many and also there is some threat to fight. You can simulate weather, fire, lava and other phenomenon using influence maps and you can use them in procedural generation to know where to put each new object.
